MALSC Projects for Volunteers

Listing school records (log books, admission registers, punishment books, photographs, etc.)
Specialised boxing, packaging and labelling
Assisting local studies staff sort and identify illustrations collection
Identifying and listing the Ian Fraser slide collection
Listing the Photo Production Ltd., Featherby Road, Gillingham, greetings card collection 1932-1992
Assisting in obtaining sponsorship for scanning projects

Also, Medway Museums and Library service is planning to stage exhibitions previously shown at MALSC in Eastgate House during, and either side of, various festivals in the area. If you can volunteer a couple of hours to help supervise these, please e-mail Elaine Gardner at lanagardner@fsmail.net and you will then be contacted nearer the time of the exhibition.

Those planned are:

Dickensland Then & Now - for the Dickens Festival
Royal Engineers - for Veterans’ Day at end of June
Shorts - for the Fuse Festival
1000 years of Medway History - for Heritage Open days in early September
Victorian way of Life/Victorian Christmas - for Dickens Christmas festival.

We are all keen to see Eastgate House open to the public as much as possible so we hope that you can help by giving us a little of your time.
